Serves 4
Ingredients
1 Pound ground pasture-raised turkey meat
1/2 Avocado, smashed
1 T. Avocado or olive oil mayo
3 T. Mild, medium or hot buffalo hot sauce- I suggest The New Primal brand
1/4 c. Chopped onion(optional)
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Avocado, coconut oil, ghee or pasture-raised lard for sautéing
1 t. Red chili flakes(optional)
Directions
Set oven to 500.
Have a small cookie tray available to place the burgers on until cooking.
Smash the avocado until smooth and place in a mixing bowl.
Add the rest of the ingredients.
Mix well with your hands, being careful not to over mix. You will notice the mixture will be very moist.
Scoop out 4 even balls- don’t worry about shaping them into burger patties just yet.
After washing your hands, heat up a cast iron pan over medium heat.
Add your choice of oil/fat to pan- about 2 T.
Place each of the 1/4 lb. patties into the pan, making sure they are not touching and cook for 5 minutes.
Form the patty shapes while in the skillet using a spatula.
Using the same spatula, carefully turn over the patties and cook for another 5 minutes.
Place the cast iron skillet into the oven for 10 minutes or until completely cooked through to your liking.
