Healing & Traditional Chinese Medicine with Dr. Beth Bartlett DC - #11
Dr. Beth Bartlett graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in 2001, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Beth completed her functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine in April 2019.
Dr. Beth has been in clinical practice for eighteen years; owning her own musculoskeletal practice in IL for eight years and starting her functional medicine practice in Northbrook, IL in 2014.
Growing up in a funeral home, Dr. Beth knew at an early age she wanted to help heal people. While she thought about attending traditional medical school, she found her passion lied in discovering the WHY aspect of chronic disease and set-off to emerge herself in functional medicine practices.
Dr. Beth shares with us the ins and outs of how traditional chinese medicine works with healing the body from inflammation, hormonal imbalances and metabolic dysfunction. TCM has been around for thousands of years but still is not accepted as a science-based approach to healing. Dr. Beth guides us on a journey that unravels the mysteries associated with TCM and it's offerings, such as acupuncture, cupping, nutrition and Ayurveda. We talk about how TCM is used during menopause and how this ancient approach to health is able to help balance hormones, mitigate hot flashes and insomnia, as well as support hair growth. One component of TCM is using chinese herbs to supplement the healing process and Dr. Beth shares with us how to purchase these FDA unapproved options the proper way.
