Women's Hormonal Health with Dr. Shawn Tassone, MD, PhD - #14

Every day women wake up it’s like playing Russian Roulette. Will I feel good or will I feel like crap? Will I want to have sex or will I want to run far away from my partner? Being middle-aged and staying hormonal balanced is normal and possible. So often women who are going through peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause are told that not feeling their best, not having a libido and not sleeping soundly are all part of aging and their new normal. Dr. Tassone and I talk about the differences between seeing a traditional OBGYN versus a functional medical OBGYN and how their different affect their patient who’s suffering from many symptoms.

There’s women listening to this podcast episode right now saying to themselves “I’m getting older, I feel like crap and it’s just my new normal”.  Dr. Tassone and I are here to tell you that that couldn’t be further from the truth. All women experience hormonal imbalances for multiple reasons and from multiple causes. Discovering your unique health equation, which includes optimizing your hormones, requires a lot of patience, a trusting partnership with your doctor and lots of self-love because this is not an overnight process and it can be very frustrating at times.
